About Fixed Rate Electric Plans
A comparison site for one kind of product, with no account, no subscription, and a stated reason for everything it leaves out.
What this site does
It lists fixed-rate residential electricity plans available at a Texas address, ranked by what twelve months of them is projected to cost. You enter a ZIP code, you compare, and you enroll directly with the retail provider you choose on their own secure checkout.
It does not manage your account, monitor your plan, remind you when your contract ends, or hold any record of you. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel.
What it refuses to list
Four kinds of plan never enter the inventory. These are exclusions at retrieval, not filters you can switch off — there is no URL that reveals them.
- Bill-credit plans. Their advertised rate assumes you land in a usage window and collect a credit. Miss it and the real price is far higher, so the number you compared on was never the number you pay.
- Variable and prepaid plans. A variable rate can move after you sign, and a prepaid balance is a different product from a contract price. Neither can be honestly compared against a fixed rate on one chart.
- Free nights, free weekends, time-of-use. The free hours are paid for by a higher rate the rest of the time. Whether that is a good deal depends on your hourly usage, which no comparison site can know.
- Plans you cannot read the terms of. If the retailer has not published the Electricity Facts Label, Terms of Service, and Your Rights as a Customer as links you can open, the plan is not listed here.
The trade-off is real and worth stating plainly: if one of those products genuinely suits your household, this is not the right site for finding it.
How it ranks plans
By projected first-year cost — twelve times the retailer's own published estimated monthly bill at the usage level you pick. That figure comes from the Electricity Facts Label, so it already contains their monthly base charges. We do not multiply an advertised rate out ourselves, because that silently drops exactly the charges that make a comparison wrong.
Nothing is promoted, boosted, or placed. Commission does not affect the order, and there is no paid placement of any kind.
Who operates it
Fixed Rate Electric Plans is operated by Cutts Technologies LLC, a registered electricity broker with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. We are not a retail electric provider, transmission and distribution utility, municipal utility, electric cooperative, or government website. We do not sell electricity or take title to electricity, and we never switch your provider without your authorization. You enroll directly with the retail electric provider you choose.
How it is paid
When you enroll through this site, the retail electric provider pays us a commission. That commission does not change how plans are ranked here — results are ordered by lowest projected annual cost at the usage level shown, and nothing else.
The full statement of how we are paid, what we do and do not guarantee, and how to raise a complaint is in the Terms of Use, and what the site does and does not do with information is in the Privacy Policy.
Where the plan data comes from
Plans are retrieved live from participating retail electricity providers through our inventory partner at the moment you search, and again at the moment you select a plan. Nothing is cached into a stale price list.
This is a marketplace rather than a census: it shows the fixed-rate plans available through it, which is not the same as every plan sold in Texas. Nothing on this site claims complete market coverage.
