About Fixed Rate Electric Plans

You enter a ZIP code, see the fixed-rate plans available for the applicable delivery area, and choose the plan you want.

This site does not manage your electricity account, monitor your plan, or remind you when your contract ends.

Fixed-rate plans are the only kind listed here, so every plan in your results can be compared with the others. These are not listed:

• Bill-credit plans. A bill credit applies only when the plan's stated conditions are met, so the same plan can work out to a very different price per kilowatt-hour depending on how much you use.
• Variable and prepaid plans. A variable-rate price can change according to the plan's terms, and a prepaid plan is paid for in advance rather than billed after you use the electricity.
• Free nights, free weekends, time-of-use. These plans charge different prices depending on when electricity is used. What one costs you depends on how much of your electricity you use during the cheaper hours, so time-of-use plans are not part of this comparison.
• Plans you cannot read the terms of. If the retailer has not published the Electricity Facts Label, Terms of Service, and Your Rights as a Customer as links you can open, the plan is not listed here.

Plans are ranked by projected first-year cost at the usage level you choose. There is no paid placement of any kind.

Fixed Rate Electric Plans is operated by Cutts Technologies LLC, a registered electricity broker with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. We are not a retail electric provider, transmission and distribution utility, municipal utility, electric cooperative, or government website. We do not sell electricity or take title to electricity, and we never switch your provider without your authorization. Your electricity agreement is with the retail electric provider you choose. Enrollment may be completed through our enrollment partner or a provider-hosted process.

When you enroll through this site, we may receive a commission. That commission does not change how plans are ranked here — results are ordered by lowest projected annual cost at the usage level shown, and nothing else.

Plan prices and availability come from the partner that supplies our plan data, and are looked up when you search. The plan you pick is checked again when you go to enroll.
